Since 2004 $55,899 raised!

The CBW phone card fundraiser was our most successful this year with a total of $8779.00! Thanks to everyone who supported the effort and special thanks to BVL for their $3,000 donation and Bill Mossontte for his very generous donation of $1,000. Once again we worked with YMCA at 29 Palms Marine and Naval base and TREA. A total of 685 cards went out for Valentine’s Day.
The Bowling Proprietors of Southern California have been very supportive and raise money each year and this is the kind of thing that helps this effort grow. We are getting more, and more recognition. Scott Frager who is owner and publisher of Bowling Industry and President of the BPSC said their organization was donating bowling kits to one of the ships that was deploying and asked if we would be willing to donate some phone cards. After discussion with President Romeo we decided this was a good thing for us to do. I also had AT&T send 60 cards to CBW directly and I felt we could create a lot of goodwill with being able to personally distribute them to people who could send them directly to their loved ones in Afghanistan.
In addition to the above mentioned promotional things I sent the remainder of my phone card flyers to the Military Tournament in Las Vegas. With the help of Jackie Wyckoff and Randy Gulley, who was bowling in the tournament, the flyers were passed out at one of the bowls. I don’t know if we will see any benefit but we thought with all the military there we just might pick up some donations.
Hopefully, we can target another date allowing us to get together for an interim meeting and discuss the future of this program.

Cards Delivered! Pictured below are volunteers who "package" the purchased phone cards. It's quite a process to get them where they need to be on Valentine's Day!
